The cancer fundraiser continues with Pairings@Home

When it comes to the Nashville Wine Auction’s efforts to raise funds to help nine local cancer-services-related organizations, the show must go on. Pairings is the Wine Auction’s more casual big event of the year, not quite as chichi as the annual l’Eté du Vin summer gatherings. Still, Pairings has traditionally depended on gathering local wine lovers in one room to enjoy a special meal and take part in a large silent and live auction to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for these worthy charities.
Then, well … freakin’ COVID. Undeterred, the Nashville Wine Auction is plunging forward with a new plan, an event they’ve named Pairings@Home, which will feature wine presentations from six featured vintners. On Saturday, March 27, the group will present an online event that organizers promise will feature the same personality and sense of community that Pairings patrons have enjoyed for almost a decade.
The evening’s activities will include an entertaining pre-auction online telecast that will talk about the mission of the organization, plus the silent and live auctions followed by a post-auction wrap-up webcast. The participating winemakers will also be a part of the program and describe some of the wines that will be included in the auctions. The featured West Coast wineries will be: Crocker & Starr, Sens3s, Beaux Freres, Detert Family Vineyards, Mt. Brave/Mt. Veeder and Taylor Family Vineyards.
The auction will be offered via mobile platform and will feature some extraordinary wine offerings plus VIP experiences and luxury travel packages. Bidding for both the silent and live auctions will open on Thursday, March 18.
Ticket packages are available for two or eight people and include wine accompanied by a delicious cheese/charcuterie Board. Registrants can pick up their wine/food package on Saturday, March 27, between noon and 5 p.m. at City Winery (609 Lafayette St.). If you don’t want the wine-and-food option, registration is free to watch and bid, but in either case, head to the Pairings site and hold your spot soon!
