Wine and Valentine’s Day kind of go together like peanut butter and jelly, but two wine companies are taking this pairing to new heights, with upside-down bouquets and rosé-colored sunglasses.
Brancott Estate, a New Zealand winery known for bringing this Pacific island country’s fine Sauvignon Blanc to the states, has partnered with Spencer Falls, aka The Unlikely Florist to flip the traditional bouquet on its head. Literally.
When you purchase the Flipster Bouquet ($110) from this talented Los Angeles floral artist, Brancott Estate wine will gift an arrangement to a recipient of your choice. Whether it be a friend, family member, partner, or colleague, Brancott Estate wants to pay it forward, while supplies last.
“It’s been a pleasure to partner with a fellow Kiwi brand to flip the Unlikely bouquet on its head,” says Falls. “Both Brancott and I share an appreciation for sustainability, for making the most of life on the flip side, and for good wine. After a busy week preparing floral arrangements for Valentine’s Day, I’ll be winding down with a glass of Brancott Estate Sauvignon Blanc.”
The bouquet itself is a gorgeous, aromatic arrangement that has been wrapped in burlap and ribbons. Recipients of these lovely flowers just stick the whole bouquet – burlap included – into a vase, and after five days, they can hang it upside down to dry in a gorgeous, sustainable arrangement, becoming a “forever bouquet.”
Brancott decided to partner with Falls, in part, because the winery is celebrating its mantra, “life on the flipside,” and in doing so, the winery has been partnering with people they consider “flipsters,” or people who “people who redefine their field by constantly finding new, innovative ways to flip the expected into the unexpected.”
“We teamed up with Spencer because his Kiwi quirkiness and his passion for creating unique and beautiful floral arrangements perfectly embodies what it means to be a flipster,” says a brand representative. “After such an unlikely year, we partnered with the Unlikely Florist to literally flip the traditional bouquet on its head.”
These lovely bouquets are available to be shipped nation-wide, and they’ll continue to be available through the spring. Brancott’s Sauvignon Blanc is also available nationally, through the brand’s website, as well as Drizly, and both Brancott and Falls say “this is a perfect pairing.”
Another perfect pairing to celebrate Valentine’s Day – and Galentine’s Day – comes from Cupcake Vineyards and Zenni Optical. This fun-loving wine brand and this fashion-forward eyewear brand teamed up to create their first ever product collaboration: Cupcake Prosecco Rosé Sunglasses.
The bright and bubbly shades are designed to celebrate the release of Cupcake Prosecco Rosé, and this collaboration was timed to celebrate Valentine’s Day.
“At Cupcake, choosing joy is a rule we live by and we’re glad we can bring a little joy when everyone is needing it most,” says Collin Cooney, director of marketing for Cupcake. “Zenni does just that with its chic yet affordable glasses, making them the perfect pairing to help us mark the release of our Prosecco Rosé.”
The premium sunglasses feature a cat-eye shape, satin rosé-colored frames with a silver nose bridge and a gradient dark gray lens tint with rose-gold mirror finish, and their subtly curved lenses were designed to match Cupcake’s bottle. They come with a co-branded cleaning cloth and case, too. The sunglasses are sold online for $45.95, and they will be available while supplies last.
“At Zenni, we’re constantly looking for ways to offer creative products that our customers can look great in and easily afford as well,” says Sean Pate, brand marketing and communications officer for Zenni. “That’s why we’re so excited to collaborate with Cupcake to offer these cheerful sunglasses and help bring a positive view to customers of both brands.”
