Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced that luxury brand Alila is set to grow its US footprint with the impending arrival of Alila Napa Valley.
An existing Napa Valley hotel is preparing to join Alila’s ranks in March 2021, when it will become the brand’s third hotel in California – the only US state in which it currently has a presence.
A growing luxury hotel portfolio
Slated to join the Alila brand on 1 March ahead of a planned reopening on 15 March, this idyllic wine-country retreat in St Helena will soon be the latest property to offer Alila’s distinctive take on luxury hospitality.
The 68-key adults-only sanctuary promises to deliver personalised hospitality that also celebrates the globally renowned wine region. Previously known as Las Alcobas, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Napa Valley, the property occupies a 1907-built Georgian-style guesthouse.
In the US, Alila Napa Valley joins Ventana Big Sur, an Alila Resort, along with Alila Marea Beach Resort Encinitas, which is planning to make its debut in March. The brand now comprises 14 properties worldwide, each offering innovative design, a commitment to sustainable tourism and unique destination experiences.
“Growing the Alila brand remains a priority for Hyatt and we’re so thrilled to offer guests and World of Hyatt members new, immersive experiences set in the remarkable beauty of California’s exceptional Napa Valley wine country,” said Crystal Vinisse Thomas, Hyatt global brand leader, lifestyle and luxury brands.
“As the third Alila destination in California, Alila Napa Valley is poised to provide a personalised approach that will help discerning guests discover what makes the Napa Valley region so special. As a leader in crafted luxury, responsible tourism and transformative experiences, the Alila brand will deliver a refreshing guest experience that is all its own, while embodying a brand ethos that feels right at home in California.”
The Alila Napa Valley experience
Alila Napa Valley is surrounded by the vineyards of Beringer Estate. Here, guests will be afforded a curated luxury travel experience connecting them to California’s wine country. Renowned design firm Yabu Pushelberg has complemented the hotel’s surroundings with soothing interiors, incorporating natural materials that make the most of the plentiful vineyard and mountain views.
The hotel comprises 68 guest rooms, including seven suites, with marble bathrooms and custom-designed furnishings. Each room comes with an oversized balcony or wraparound terrace, a fireplace, and in some cases an outdoor bathtub.
Restaurant and bar Acacia House showcases the local, sustainable cuisine of Chef Chris Cosentino, and the newly rebranded Spa Alila and Fitness Center features a scenic outdoor pool, as well as a steam room, couples’ massage suite and yoga studio. On top of this, the hotel houses nearly 5,500 sq ft of event space for meetings and social events, including the Acacia Barn, as well as a 3,000 sq ft lawn that’s ideal for weddings.
While staying here, guests will be able to enjoy activities such as yoga classes and mindful wine tasting and make use of complimentary bicycles.
Alila Napa Valley’s situated within walking distance of the shops and restaurants in downtown St Helena, with convenient access to hundreds of wineries. It’s 78 miles from San Francisco International Airport, 64 miles from Sacramento International Airport and just 45 miles from Sonoma County Airport.
