•Rodney Strong Wine Estates has expanded its alliance with Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits, adding 16 new markets to the partnership. Rodney Strong is now aligned with Southern Glazer’s across the distributor’s national network. The Sonoma County winery has 14 estate vineyards, with a portfolio including the Rodney Strong Vineyards, Davis Bynum Wines, Knotty Vines, and Upshot Wines brands.
•Inis Tine Uisce Teoranta, the company behind Grace O’Malley Irish Whiskey, has launched Proclamation, a new Irish whiskey brand, in the U.S. The 40.7% abv whiskey is a blend of grain and malt whiskies matured in Bourbon barrels, with a small portion of Sherry-finished single malt to complete the spirit. The whiskey is named for the 1916 (or Easter) Proclamation, which declared the Republic of Ireland’s independence from the U.K. Proclamation is now available across the U.S. for a suggested price of $30 a 750-ml.
•Heaven Hill Brands has unveiled a new sustainability agenda, under which it aims to meet key environmental measures by 2030. Goals include improving water efficiency by 15%, eliminating 10% of waste generated by operations, reducing virgin plastic in bottles by 50%, the planting of 5,000 trees of substantial size in local communities, supporting sustainable white oak supply, and supporting sustainable agriculture.
