A good steak calls for good wine, ergo a good steakburger calls for a fine wine, too, right? Carl’s Jr. won’t argue, considering it has partnered with Nocking Point to usher in its latest menu addition, the Steakhouse Angus Thickburger.
The brands have created a limited-edition “Carl’s Jr. x Nocking Point Wines Steakhouse Burger Box,” featuring a collection “bold red wines thoughtfully curated by Nocking Points Wine Sommelier Katie Owen and CKE Vice President of Culinary Innovation Chef Owen Klein,” according to a company press release from CKE, the parent company of Carl’s Jr.
The burger is a hand-seasoned, all-beef Angus patty with A1 Thick & Hearty steak sauce.
“With the world continuously changing, we know our customers are looking for familiar, craveable flavors and experiences like a steakhouse dinner, which is why we are excited to introduce the Carl’s Jr. interpretation of this experience,” Klein said in the release. “The Carl’s Jr. x Nocking Point Wines Steakhouse Burger Box makes a steakhouse dinner easy for everyone, replicating the fine-dining experience of a wine pairing from the comfort of your home.”
Each box contains a bottle of Nocking Point Wines’ 2017 Amell-bec Malbec, 2017 Turnaround Red and 2016 Year VII Cabernet Sauvignon/Syrah Blend as well as a Carl’s Jr. gift card to purchase the steakhouse burger and recipes from Chef Owen. The boxes are selling on the Nocking Point Wines website for $82.
“If this recent period of change has taught us anything, it’s how to enjoy the small, everyday moments at home, whether that means opening a bottle of wine you wouldn’t normally enjoy on a Tuesday night or indulging in a fancy meal,” Owen said.
The boxes and burgers went on sale today. The wine is available at NockingPointWines.com, though quantities are limited. The burger is priced, starting at $6.49.
